21st Century Disciples
It was a great day on Saturday 27th February when Bishop Graham Cray (Fresh Expressions) led us in a time of study, challenge and encouragement. Around 80 people from around the north-east came together, including a group of Street Pastors who were meeting in the Newhills Stables for their weekend Conference. Organised by Mission Scotland, Elaine Duncan (CEO Scottish Bible Society) welcomed all delegates and set the scene for the day. A group of students, headed by Andrew Wallace, from Aberdeen University Christian Union, led the worship, and then Graham took us through WHERE, WHY and HOW we can follow Jesus. You can listen to the talks through our website in the SERMONS section.
Paul Davie (Director of Alpha Scotland), Fred Drummond (Evangelical Alliance, Scotland) and Rev. Hugh Wallace led workshops exploring the implications of 21st century discipleship in the workplace, in the culture of the day and in the church.
A further conference is scheduled for 19th June at Renfield St Stephen’s Church in Glasgow. You can learn more about the programme from www.missionscotland.org.uk
