Passover Meal
What a wonderfully happy and uplifting evening we held with Barry Barnett of Jews for Jesus when around 60 people not only from Newhills but from other churches in Aberdeen, Inverurie, Methlick, Newmachar and Insch gathered to experience a Passover Meal. Elspeth MacLean, our Assistant Minister, had organised the event, and we were carefully taken through each stage of the meal, reflecting on the Exodus story of the Jewish people and the significance of the Passover ever since in their history.
But for Christians, the discovery of Jesus as the Passover Lamb, the promised Messiah was the transforming truth that brought the excitement and gratitude from us all. Barry taught us to pray in Hebrew, to sing in Hebrew and to dance the Hebrew way. What a lovely, gracious man Barry is. We were richly blessed and went on our way rejoicing.
