The Living Well Project

2011 will see the launch of the Newhills Church Befriending Service, an expression of care to some of the most vulnerable people in our community.
After lengthy conversations, preparation and prayer, we are ready to offer this service through a number of our own members who have gone though a time of training and learning, disclosure and reflection, and who are ready now to go out in Jesus Name to express His love and grace within homes where people are housebound, incapacitated and lonely.
We expect to see this Service expand as the months go past, and we will need to be recruiting more Befrienders to bring practical care where it is needed.
But this is only part of “The Living Well Project”. Initiated from a vision given to Charlie Shepherd some years ago, backed up by prayerful consideration, we believe that God is wanting to see streams of living water flow from the church, down the hill and into the community. There is a wonderful vision of this given to Ezekiel in the 47th chapter of his prophecy. It is a river that brings healing and wholeness, that transforms people, land, barrenness to life and hope.
