Walking with God

Let me tell you a story, a story of 1200 women in one building. We started the journey to Edinburgh on the train, meeting new people and having great conversations and laughs together. We arrived and made our way to the hotel. We all enjoyed a lovely meal together and were ready to start the evening. I didn’t know what to expect which was the exciting part, walking up to Edinburgh Conference Centre, making our way through the spinning doors and then there were women everywhere. We all made our way to the hall and took our seats. Then it all began to happen and it only got better, 1200 women singing, praying, all believing and having the passion for Jesus Christ our Lord. We sang our hearts out; we listened and were inspired by the words the people on the stage had to say. I sat there and took it all in, and through out the whole conference I thought to my self “this is what it’s all about” knowing that you are loved and comforted, that you are not alone in your daily struggles of life. He is with you and he was with us, 1200 women, he was listening, he heard our prayers our songs our laughs. You see, God knows, and when you are sitting with all these women praising him, talking to him, and all these women are doing the same, you realise you are not alone, but this is real.

The next day was just as wonderful. Me and the girls went for lunch in this lovely wee French cafe, where we ate together and gave thanks together. Then we went on to enjoy the rest of the day. There was so much going on. It is not possible to go to every seminar, but pick the ones that jump out at you, and you won’t be disappointed. We ended the night with another lovely meal. We all held hands in the restaurant and gave thanks.

I made my way up to the buffet and a couple came up to me and said “who are you with?” I said I’m with people from different churches and we are going to a conference, “Women Walking with God”. “What’s it all about” they asked? I said it’s about having a life with our God and there are 1200 women all in one building. They said, “That is truly remarkable. We were watching you all praying together”. How great that is! I said “You should go”. You see, people are curious; they want to know about this life with God. Maybe they will, I don’t know, but what’s amazing is these people were curious, interested, wanted to know.

We had a great celebration at the conference to end the night, I had tears of joy because I felt uplifted, inspired. I knew I wasn’t alone. I was ready, ready for action, ready to go back and take everything with me, and not leave it behind but hold it, breath it and walk with God, walk with him every day of my life. If you want my opinion, let me tell you – you won’t regret it. All I can do is tell you how it made me feel, so go, go find out, it’s worth it. Go on his journey, it’s a journey you won’t forget!
