Women Walking with God – Revisited!
In 2009 a group of 33 women from Newhills made the journey to Edinburgh to experience the Women Walking with God conference. They returned inspired and invigorated and so evangelical about the experience that in 2010 47 intrepid souls made their way South for the event!
Once again, it was an inspiring weekend and the organisers of the trip felt that it would be important to share something of what they had learned and heard with a wider audience. A Women Walking with God Revisited evening was held in the Church on Monday 12 th April when a number of the women who had been in Edinburgh and other women of the congregation and guests joined together for an evening of worship, sharing of testimony and experience and much laughter.
The purpose was to give a taster of the event to those who had never been but also to have an opportunity to cascade down the variety of teaching that had been experienced over the two days. This varied from the Wisdom of Proverbs to being a Christian at work and from experiencing different ways of prayer to learning about the plight of the Dalit women in India.
All those who attended were challenged and moved by the different women who took part in the evening and the challenge to the organisers will now be to take forward all that has been learned into the wider work of the church.
