Guild News – Summer 2011
The 2010/2011 session has been another successful one for both afternoon and evening Guilds despite some disruption due to winter weather. We ended our session on Thursday 12th May at the Cloverleaf Hotel where, after a very good meal, we were entertained by Doug and Arlene, (Doug being our own Doug Stewart) who provided us with an excellent programme of music and song.
AGMs were held for both Guilds in April and the leadership team for next session is:
Convener – Elizabeth Park
Secretary – Kathy Shepherd
Treasurer – Irene Pace
Committee Members:- Jane Blair, Jean Charles, Kathleen Hampton, Betty Minty, Agnes Murray, Betty Taylor and new members Vi Lieper, Jasmine Ross and Maurice Maitland. All Committee members have an individual responsibility within the Committee. Molly Bain and Margaret Lowe retire from the Committee and our warmest thanks go to them for their contributions to the Guild down the years. The Committee will meet at the end of May to draw up next session’s syllabus.
Diary Dates: The first meeting of the evening Guild will be on Thursday 8th September and the first afternoon Guild will be on Wednesday 21st September. We look forward to welcoming members old and new, ladies and gentlemen to both Guilds for afternoons and evenings of fellowship, friendship and fun.
